TERIPHIC project in the news

TERIPHIC project was published online in Optical Connections News.

EU project TERIPHIC developing transceivers for low-emission 1.6Tbps Internet

The European Horizon 2020-funded consortium TERabit optical transceivers based on InP EML arrays and a Polymer Host platform for optical InterConnects, also known as TERIPHIC, is working on the development of optical transceiver modules for datacentres – with the aim of cutting power consumption by 50% per Gbps.

The TERIPHIC group says it expects the new transceivers to solve problems faster and reduce data traffic queue times. Shortening processing intervals for high-performance computing, edge computing and machine learning, the new ultra-high-capacity, low-power-consumption pluggable modules are capable of both 800Gbps and 1.6Tbps.
